Today, Sunday October 14, 2018, there was a political rally at Bear Creek Park where Doug McCallum and his Safe Surrey Coalition team were in attendance to announce that if elected they would build a Bear Creek Park stadium and make the surrounding facility suitable for world class events. Jessie and Sue spoke to the Coalition about the need for an upgraded facility at Bear Creek Park, as did Joe Connelly of North Surrey Football. Sue committed that UAC would work with local government to plan for an upgraded Bear Creek Park, and stressed the need for a stadium in Surrey. We are glad to hear continued discussion around this topic.

Universal is delighted to congratulate Christabel Nettey for her gold medal performance in the Commonwealth Games, held in Australia. The Gold Coast was indeed GOLD for this long jumper, with a performance of 6.84. A former resident of Surrey, Christabel (along with her family) has a lengthy history with Universal, and has been closely connected through training programs over the years. She has always been a very good friend to our club, visiting practice sessions and speaking at our function. Again, UAC gives a big shout out to Christabel!!
