UAC'S PROVINCIAL AWARD WINNERS

At the BC Athletics Annual Awards Banquet on Nov. 19 2016, two of UAC's members were presented with awards for their achievements in Track and Field. 

Jasneet Nijjar was an award winner in the Midget Female category and Sue Kydd was awarded the Dave Coupland Inspirational Award in the Officiating category. Jasneet achieved standard in the 200m with 24.74, the 300m with 39.36, the 80mH a 11.33 and the 200mH with a time of 26.25. All these performances were the number 1 performance in the province for 2016 and her 200mH time is a national record.
 
Sue received her award for being, well, Inspirational! The award is presented to a BCA member who has been an inspiration for Officials; someone who has made it fun.

2016 LEGION MIDGET/YOUTH NATIONAL T&F CHAMPIONSHIPS

Three UAC athletes, Baneet Bains, Katarina Vlahovic, and  Jasneet Nijjar  participated in the National Championships for ages 14-17 in Quebec.  These three young women well represented Universal Athletics, and we are very proud of them.

*Jasneet’s 200 metre hurdle time was a Championship meet record, breaking the former record time of 26.82, set in 2014.

MIKE MASON HEADS TO RIO, VIA UNIVERSAL MEET!​

All of us at Universal are delighted to congratulate Mike Mason for achieving Olympic Standard at our meet on Saturday July 2, 2016.  Mike’s high jump of 2.29 qualifies him for the Olympics, and we look forward to following his progress next weekend in Edmonton at the Nationals.
